Joan Black (Bellotti), Women’s Basketball, Class of 1969
Joan Black was one of the charter members of the women’s basketball team and was one of the first team captains. She played and started all 16 games in her two seasons, scoring 168 points, averaging 10.5ppg. Black is currently an award winning educator in New Jersey.
Lindsay Gonzalez, Women’s Basketball, Class of 2004
Lindsay Gonzalez was a four-year player on the women’s basketball team, starting every game her final two seasons. She scored 1,007 career points which is 19th all time. Gonzalez is also third all-time in three-pointers made (114), 15th in free throws made (257), second all-time in assists (461), third all-time in assists per game (4.0) and seventh all-time in steals (196). She is one of only four Peahens to make 50 three-pointers in a season and one of only five Peahens to ever have more than 160 assists in a season. Gonzalez holds the all-time record for assists in a game with 17 in 2002 and led the Peahens to the 2002 MAAC Championship and NCAA Tournament.
Pablos Orantes, Soccer, Class of 2005
Arguably the best defensive player in men’s soccer history, Pablo Orantes played in 83 games, scoring five goals and recording six assists for 16 career points. He was named First Team All-MAAC in 2002, 2003 and 2004 and led the Peacocks to their most successful season in program history in 2003. That season the Peacocks won their first ever MAAC Championship and moved on to the NCAA Tournament where they defeated Brown in the fi rst round, before falling to Michigan in the second round. He currently works in the Enrollment Management office at Saint Peter’s College.
Mildred Washington, Women’s Basketball, Class of 2003
Mildred Washington played and started in all 113 games during her four-year career. She is 13th on the all-time scoring list with 1,158 points, 11th all-time in FG% (.480) and is one of only two Peahens with over 1,000 career rebounds (1153) and over 1,000 career points. Washington is second all-time in rebounding average (10.2) and during her senior season, she led the Peahens to a 14-0 MAAC record, the first to do that in the double round-robin format. That team won the MAAC Championship and advanced to NCAA Tournament. She also won three MAAC Regular Season Championships in her career.
Jon Wasielewski, Football, Class of 2003
Jon Wasielewski was one of the best defensive players in recent memory. He played in 33 games in three seasons at Saint Peter’s, recording 317 total tackles, 25.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, forced six fumbles and recorded four interceptions, including one for a touchdown. He led the Peacocks team that went 10-1 in 2001 and led the nation in several defensive statistical categories.
SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Dr. Peter DeLuca, Class of 1981
Dr. Peter DeLuca is in his 13th season with the Philadelphia Eagles and his seventh as the head team physician. DeLuca is also an orthopedic consultant for the Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia Phantoms (AHL). He is a sports medicine specialist with the Rothman Institute at Jefferson University Hospital and currently serves as a member of the North American Arthroscopy Association and has lectured locally and nationally on sports related injuries. He was awarded the Philip Syng Physick Award for Research and was elected to the National Medical Honor Society. A native of Jersey City, NJ, DeLuca received a degree in biology from Saint Peter’s College in 1981 and then went on to earn his M.D. at Georgetown in 1986. He then underwent postgraduate training and residencies at both Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and Yale University Hospital.

Drew Bauman
Drew Bauman is the man responsible for the Mihalovic brothers including the Athletic Dept in there “will”, which accounts for approximately $175,000 to construct a Field House at Jaroschak Field. He has also given to men’s and women’s basketball and attends several men’s and women’s basketball games. Bauman is a Union County Prosecutor.
The 1990-91 men’s basketball team is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of winning the first MAAC Basketball Championship in the history of the program and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the fi rst time. The Peacocks were 24-7, 11-5 in the MAAC, defeating Niagara, La Salle and Iona in the MAAC Tournament. The Peacocks lost to Texas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Tony Walker was named to the All-MAAC First Team and to the All-Tournament Team. Marvin Andrews was named to the All-MAAC Second Team and the MAAC Tournament MVP. Jasper Walker was named to the All-MAAC Second Team and Antoine Allen to the All-MAAC Rookie Team.
