Peahens Place sixth at MAACS

Lawrenceville, NJ (May 5-6, 2007) - The Saint Peter's College Peahens had three top five finishes. Yomi Angulo placed fifth in the Javelin with a throw of 31.76m.  The 4x100 Relay team of Angulo, Monique Washington, Pricilla Arboleda and Marissa Kohl finished in the five spot with a time of 56.24. The 4x400 Relay team consisting of Monique Mercurius, Paulina Hornik, Washington and Arboleda also placed fith with a time of 4:44.49. Katelynn Riordon also scored some points for the Peahens by placing seventh in the Discus with a distance of 30.42m. 

Three second Place Finishes for the Peahens in the NJIT/Bergen CC Invitational

Paramus, NJ (April 7, 2007) - The Saint Peter's Women's Track team had thier best outting of the year with three second place finishes. In the 100 Meter Hurdles, Monique Mercurius took home second place with a time of 18.30. Yomi Angulo placed second in the Javelin with a toss of 26.29m. The 4 x 100 team of Angulo, Monique Washington, Mercurius and Priscilla Arboleda capped off the second place finishes with a time of 57.60. Katelyn Riorden placed eighth in Javelin throwing for 12.82m and added a ninth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 8.85m. Mercurius also added an eighth place finnish in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:45.37.

Saint Peter's returns to action this Saturday, April 14th as they participate in the Rider Invitational in Lawernceville, NJ.

six top 10 finishes for Peahens in Wagner College Invitational

Staten Island, NY (March 31, 2007) - The Saint Peter's Peahens were one of many teans who competed in the Wagner Invitational on Saturday. The day's top performance was the fifth place finish in the 400 Meter Hurdles by Priscilla Arboleda with a time of 1:14.00. The Relay teams both finished sixth. The 4x100 team of Yomi Angulo, Arboleda, Dierdre Powers and Monique Washington ended with a time of 56.14. The 4x800 team consisting of Jaymie Schultz, Paulina Hornik, Danielle Pachuta and Monique Mercurius who recoded a time of 12:35.90.  Powers placed ninth in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 19.15 while Katelyn Riordon also placed ninth with a throw of 27.98m in the Discus. Mercurius rounded out the top 10 places with a 10th ranked performance in the 800 Meter Run collecting a time of 2:44.60.

Saint Peter's will return to action on Saturday, April 7th where they will compete in the NJIT/Bergen CC Invitational. 

Peacocks Open season with 12th Annual Monmouth open

West Long Branch, NJ (March 23-24, 2007) - Saint Peter's College opened their track and field season at the 12th Annual Monmouth University Opener. The Peahens top performance was reeled in by the 4 x 100 Meter Relay team that featured Yomi Angulo, Monique Mercurius, Monique Washington and Priscilla Arboleda who posted a time of 58.12. The Peahens were not fortunate to have any others in the top 10. They were fortunate to strong showings by Angulo who finished 16th in the Javelin who threw for 25.04 and Arboleda placing 18th in the 400 Hurdles in 1:15.83.

Peahens Fall to last at MAACs

New York, NY (February 16, 2007) - The Saint Peter's Peahen track team had a rough outting at the MAAC Championships at the Armory Center.  The best finish of the day came from the 4 x 400 relay team who came in fifth place. India Walker, Monique Mercurious, Priscilla Arboleda and Dierdre Power finished with a time of 5:02.63. Katelyn Riordon earned the Peahens some points with an eighth place finish in the shot put throwing 9.36m.

Seven peahens Earn Maac All-Academic Honors

Edison, NJ - The MAAC published their Track and Field MAAC All-Acdemic team this past week with seven Peahens earning the right to represent Saint Peter's College.  Sophomores Priscilla Aboleda, Kelly Blanchfield, Paulina Hornik, Deidre Power and Katherine Sura represent the Peahens on the list. Junior Monique Mercurious and Senior Molly Hanrahan are also acknowledged for their excellence in academics at Saint Peter's.

Lafayette-Rider Invitational

(February 9, 2007) - Saint Peter's College track and field team participated in athe Lafayette Invitational on Friday with Division I teams from all over New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The 4x800 team posted the highest placing at 10th for the Peaheans featuring Jaymie Schultz, Danielle Pachuta, Monique Mercurius and Priscilla Arboleda. Schultz also recorded an 18th in the 1000 meter run with a time of 4:10.14.

Peahens Compete at the MAAC
Track and Field Championships

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - The Saint Peter's College Peahens competed at the 2006 MAAC Track and Field Championships this afternoon at Rider University.

On the field, Tiffany Hammonds finished seventh in the shot put with a distance of 10.69m. Laura Gubitosa finished 13th with a throw of 7.36m.

On the track, the team of Shawntae Seabrooke, Haja Taylor-Kamara, Deirdre Power and Malgorzata Augustynowicz ran a time of 1:11.23 in the 4x100 relay for a fifth place finish.

Taylor then finished second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12:99, just 27-hundreths of a second behind the winner.

In the 4x400 meter relay, the team of Tiffany Jones, Sarah Meier, Seabrooke and Augustynowicz finished sixth with a time of 5:44.27. FULL RESULTS
