Mercer CC Dual Admission Program

The dual admission program between Saint Peter's College and Mercer County College allows eligible students to begin their studies at Mercer County College and complete them at SPC. Students who enroll in the program are offered the following advantages:

  • Automatic admission to Saint Peter’s College upon completion of the Associate Degree program at Mercer County College with a 2.5 grade point average or better.
  • Joint academic advising from counselors at Saint Peter’s College and Mercer County College to ensure a seamless transition between colleges.

Students currently attending Mercer County College may join the dual degree program if they have not completed 30 college credits.

A: The dual admission program is a joint admission effort between Saint Peter’s College and Mercer County College through which a student pursues an Associate’s degree at Mercer County College , followed by a Bachelor’s degree at Saint Peter’s College.
Q: Should a student interested in the program apply to both Saint Peter’s College and Mercer County College?
A: If you previously applied to Saint Peter’s College, then your application to Saint Peter’s College will serve as the application to Mercer County College . Students will be required to sign a Saint Peter’s College Dual Admission Interest Form so that Saint Peter’s College can release a copy of the admission folder to Mercer County College.

If you have not previously applied to Saint Peter’s College, but would like to join the Dual Agreement program and has less than 30 credits, please a Transfer Coordinator at Mercer County College about joining the program.
Q: How do students apply for financial aid?
A: Saint Peter’s College and Mercer County College require students to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students should request the FAFSA report be sent to Saint Peter’s College (code 002638) and Mercer County College.
Q: How does Saint Peter’s College help students to transition into a Bachelor’s program upon graduating from Mercer County College?
A: Dual admission students must achieve a 2.5 cumulative GPA in the course of study at Mercer County College to enroll at Saint Peter’s College. Once accepted to Saint Peter’s College, students will participate in a special advising session regarding their transfer credits and will also receive a minimum award incentive of $8,500 from Saint Peter's College to continue in the dual admission program.
