Community Director (CD) is a full-time, entry level position. The CD is to create and maintain a vibrant program in the residence halls in which the greatest educational, social, and cultural values for the individual student will be realized. The CD reports to the Assistant Director of Residence Life for Community Development. With the supervision of 12-15 Resident Assistants, the CD will also be responsible for overseeing 3-4 Residence Halls with approximately 350 students.
Responsibilities:
· Supervising of Resident Assistants and development of strong staff team.
· Operating and supervising the living unit insuring the physical safety and welfare of the students in that unit.
· Advising student groups in their cultural, scholastic, social, and athletic activities.
· Counseling of individuals and groups of students within the hall and/or referrals when necessary.
· Interpreting College policies, objectives, and regulations to students.
· Maintaining of hall records and files (i.e. housing and building rosters, maintenance reports, duty schedules, fire drills, room condition forms, etc.)
· Reporting maintenance problems to the Maintenance Office and acting as a liaison between students and that office.
· Supervising all housing procedures for students in the hall (i.e. check‑in, check‑out, vacation closing and opening, room selection, etc.)
· Facilitating all room changes within the living unit.
· Participating in policy formation for a specific residence hall and the Residence Life/Student Life Offices.
· Attending all meetings assigned by the Assistant Director.
· Acting as an official representative of the College for all events held within the residence halls.
· Serve as a judicial hearing officer for low-level judicial hearings.
· Conducting weekly hall staff meetings.
· Maintaining a flow of communication with the Assistant Director of Residence Life for Community Development and other Student Affairs departments.
· Aiding residence hall councils to encourage individual responsibility and accountability.
· Working with staff and students in each hall to develop various hall and floor programs to enhance the educational experience outside the classroom.
· Acting as a liaison between the students in the hall and the Student Life Staff.
· Developing and maintaining a close relationship with as many students as possible in the hall.
· Participating in recruitment, hiring and training of Resident Assistants.
· Evaluating Resident Assistant performance regularly on an informal basis and formally once/twice a year.
· Participation in special campus committees and projects as needed.
· Develop programs to meet the needs of Saint Peter’s College Students.
· Participate in on-call duty rotation with other professional staff within the Office of Residence Life.
Qualifications:

5. At least one (1) year of experience in a residence life program or working within a college/university setting.
6. Bachelor’s degree required, a Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel Administration, or related field preferred.
Terms of Employment:
1. The CD may not assume any paid responsibilities outside the CD’s job without prior approval from the Director of Residence Life.
2. The CD is expected to close their Area at the end of the academic year following graduation.
3. CD’s are expected to attend weekly staff meetings with the Director of Residence Life.
4. CD’s will be expected to supervise the staff of resident assistants in their living unit and to work to establish a satisfactory atmosphere for academic and social growth.
5. The CD is responsible for maintaining on‑going communications with the Assistant Director of Residence Life for Community Development in all areas pertaining to their position.
6. The CD is responsible for assisting in training sessions for the Resident Assistants.
11:15 AM to 8:00 PM Monday –Thursday
9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday
There is presently a full-time position available for a Financial Aid Counselor in the Financial Aid Office.
The primary function of the Financial Aid Counselor is to guide the student through the financial aid process. In addition, he/she has the responsibility of performing R2T4 calculations for those students who withdraw.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
Counsel students and their families as to their eligibility for federal/state/Institutional aid; review file for accuracy and completeness, verify financial aid information, determine eligibility and assist in the processing of financial aid payments; certify loans for electronic processing; participate in workshops, open houses on and off campus orientations, presently financial aid material & information; advise undergrad and graduate students on financing an education; perform Pell reconciliation along with the Director.

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service are required.
