Scholarships
At Saint Peter's College, more than 90% of students receive financial aid. This astounding figure is made possible through the generosity of many alumni and friends of the College who understand the value of a Saint Peter's education and have created scholarships to help the current generation of Saint Peter's students grow, succeed and complete their education.
Establishing a scholarship fund at Saint Peter's is a relatively simple process that provides many personal rewards. The College maintains two types of scholarships:
Endowed Scholarships are created through a gift made to the College's endowment, and follow a formula where the interest earned from endowment performance is dedicated toward scholarship aid. Endowed gifts are perpetual, and so endowed scholarships remain intact and continue to honor the life and generosity of the benefactor in perpetuity. Each year there are more than 100 endowed scholarships awarded to Saint Peter's students. There are both partial and full scholarships funded through this program.
Annual Scholarships are funded through the generosity of donors that prefer their gifts be awarded to students in full when the gift is made. These scholarships generally require smaller initial gifts and are funded through annual donations made to the College. Much like endowed scholarships, the annual scholarship program offers students aid critical to their success and honors the life or memory of a named designee. Benefactors may choose to make annual gifts to create a scholarship and complete the endowment process through an estate gift or other bequest.
All scholarships at Saint Peter's exist to offer the current generation of students an education rich in the values of our Jesuit identity and unyielding in our commitment to academic excellence. Saint Peter's College exists to educate in the great Jesuit tradition of men and women for others. Our scholarship benefactors reaffirm that mission through their generosity and serve as noble examples of that Jesuit ideal.
In addition to establishing new scholarship funds, interested donors may also contribute to existing named scholarship funds or to the College's General Scholarship Fund.
