Student Life at Saint Peter' s College
Campus life at Saint Peter’s is vibrant and inspiring. Students are encouraged to take part in all that the College offers.
The Office of Campus Ministry is a person-centered ministry which offers religious services that include all faiths, spiritual retreats, and trips to Central and South America to help those in need.
Through the Center for Experiential Learning & Career Services students can apply for internships, and part-time or summer employment, as well as explore post-graduate career opportunities.
The Center for Personal Development is available to provide counseling services to Saint Peter's College students in support of personal, professional and educational growth.
Community Service and Service Learning programs provide our students with the chance to make a difference in the local community. The College maintains close ties to Jersey City and its neighboring communities, and national programs, such as the America Reads Tutoring Initiative, Jesuit Volunteer Corps, Peace Corps, and AmeriCorps.
The Dean of Students serves as an advocate for the student body.
The College's Dining Services are provided by Sodexho. Online menus are published regularly.
The Health Services Office is available to provide medical assistance to the College Community.
The Journal Square Shuttle Bus is available for the convenience of the College Community
The Office of Residence Life provides resident students with a safe and secure living-learning community conducive to academic achievement.
The College has recreational activities and intramural sport programs open to students, faculty, and staff alike. The Yanitelli Recreational Life Center is the home of the College’s NCAA Division I athletic teams, state-of-the-art fitness center, Olympic-sized swimming pool, free weight room, racquetball and squash courts, and three regulation size basketball courts. Recreational Life also sponsors outdoor activities and off-campus outings.
Our students make friends and master new skills in the dozens of student organizations and events that are coordinated by Student Activities. They also enjoy the opportunity to explore the diverse cultures of the world through both their fellow students -- whose roots stem from more than 65 countries -- and a variety of student organizations, and honor societies that deal with the political, economic, and social issues of the world today.
Saint Peter's student-run radio station, WSPC, broadcasts online.
Whatever specific interests our students might have, there is usually a program or activity that will tie into them. If not, the opportunity always exists to develop new programs, services, and new student clubs and organizations. Campus life is always a "mixture" of what our students want, need, and are willing to put into it. The College endeavors to provide the necessary resources to make that mixture as fulfilling and rewarding as possible.
