UN/NGO Connections
Guarini Institute for Government and Leadership provides assistance to undergraduate and graduate students seeking to pursue internship opportunities through the UN/NGO CONNECTIONS program. Saint Peter’s College believes students should take to advantage if internship opportunities to further enhance their educational experience and professional preparation.
Saint Peter's College has maintained Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) status at the United Nations since 2004 through the UN's Department of Public Information (DPI). In conjunction with associated NGO’s, DPI seeks to reach the world at large in order to help people better understand the aims and work of the United Nations.
UN/NGO CONNECTIONS provides opportunities for students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to undertake an internship at UN Headquarters in New York, Geneva, Vienna, Nairobi, Addis Ababa, Bangkok, Beirut and Santiago or to work with specific NGOs working with the UN in New York.
Generally, internships are unpaid; however, course credits can be earned for these opportunities by those students qualifying. Students should expect to be responsible for their own travel costs. Just minutes from the Journal Square PATH station, access to New York City via mass transit is easy, safe and affordable.
