Alumni Study Tour
The Akko Archaeology, Heritage and History Project engages participants in the field school of a multi-university archaeological and conservation campaign in Akko, Israel. The campaign employs the cutting-edge concept of “total archaeology” which involves archaeological excavation and conservation, and public archaeology as it considers the impact and effects of an excavation on a living city and its communities, and, reciprocally, appreciates the challenges and implications that local and regional economics, culture and politics impose on the many aspects of an excavation in the twenty-first century.
Permission of instructor and application is required. Contact Dr. Susan L. Graham for details.
