2006-2007 URAP PROJECTS
JOBS, INCOME, HOUSING AND QUALITY OF LIFE IN JERSEY CITY
Professor Donal Malone and Senior Seminar students divided into four groups projects that examine quality of life in Jersey City. The projects address the current economy and labor market; job types and income; housing; and quality of life for Fairmount Housing tenants.
COUNTING THE HOMELESS IN JERSEY CITY
Professor Alex Trillos Research Methods and Statistics students work with the Hudson County Alliance to End Homelessness to count the homeless throughout the County.
LCCS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM PARTICIPATION I & II
Professor Donal Malone and his students continue to analyze the results of the LCCS after-school program participation surveys.
NEW CITY KIDS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Professor Ayala and her students continue to work with NCK on an after-school program directory, the NCK self-assessment and develop a new survey to assess parents overall satisfaction with the program.
INCREASING YOUTH CHURCH MEMBERSHIP
Public Policy Director Fadiah Joseph and first-year Public Policy students work with Reverend Agee from Calvary CME Church in Jersey City in an effort to increase the youth membership in the church.
MALE PARTICIPATION IN HEAD START PROGRAMS
Professor Joe McLaughlins Contemporary Cities course partners with Head Start to examine male participation in the parents component of Head Start programming.
WOMEN RISING MICROLENDING PROGRAM
Professor Enrique Delamonica and some of his Economic Development students review micro-lending programs abroad and share their insights with Women Rising in Jersey City.
