Fr. Robert Kennedy, Anna Brown Bring Zen to the College of the Holy Cross
Saint Peter's College faculty members the Rev. Robert Kennedy, S.J., and Assistant Professor of Political Science Anna Brown presented a Zen meditation and forum on social justice activism at The Center for Religion, Ethics and Culture at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., on Saturday, February 14, 2009.
Father Kennedy led an ecumenical meditation program followed by Professor Brown’s forum on contemplation and social justice activism.
Father Kennedy has been a Zen teacher since 1991, and leads a daily meditation at Saint Peter's College. He was given the moniker “Roshi” in 1997.

Fr. Braden's article about enriching identity through diversity was published in the February 2009 issue of the monthly Jesuit magazine, Connections.
Susan L. Graham, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Theology
Dr. Graham’s article, "Justinian and the Politics of Space" appeared in Constructions of Space II: The Biblical City and Other Imagined Spaces. Dr. Graham was also invited to Bar-Ilan University, Ramat Gan to present "The Jerusalem of Jesus: A Christian View." Furthermore, she presented, "Justinian's Nea: A Historical-Archaeological Problem" at Mandel Institute of Jewish Studies, Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Dr. Jose L. Lopez, Assistant Professor of Physics
Dr. Lopez was invited to speak at Princeton University’s “Science on Saturday” lecture series on January 31, 2008. Dr. Lopez is the first Saint Peter’s College professor to lecture at this program. "Science on Saturday" was started 25 years ago by the Plasma Physics Laboratory at Princeton University to promote interest in science among area high school students.
Dr. William Luhr, Professor of English
Dr. Luhr delivered a lecture titled, “Double Indemnity, Film Noir, and American Cultural History” at New York University, Department of Cinema Studies on January 28, 2009. He also discussed the 2009 Oscar nominations on WSPC Radio on January 29, 2009. Additionally, Dr. Luhr organized and co-chaired a presentation by Professors Weihong Bao of Columbia University and Zhang Zheu of NYU titled, “Transparent Shanghai: The Emergence of Sound and a Left-Wing Culture of Glass” on January 22, 2009, at Columbia University.
Dr. Enrique Nuñez, Assistant Professor in the Business Administration Department
Dr. Nuñez was selected as an Education Testing Service (ETS) Visiting Scholar. As part of the program, Dr. Nuñez will spend June at the ETS campus in Princeton, N.J., working with ETS staff on education measurement and policy issues.
Alain L. Sanders, Lecturer of Political Science

Fatima Shaik, Lecturer of Communications
Fatima Shaik will participate in "Crossing Cultures, Changing Skins: Writing Across Race, Ethnicity, Class and Culture," an event that will discuss the buzzword "multiculturalism" in children's book publishing. This program will take place Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Instituto Cervantes, 211-215 East 49th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues in New York City at 7:00 p.m.
