Student News:

Date: June 9-13, 2008
Title: National Undergraduate Fellowship Program in Plasma Physics and Fusion Energy Sciences
Notes: Two students from Saint Peter's College (Brian McCullough and David Jacome) were invited to be in the REU program at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. We would like to thank James Morgan and Dr. Andrew Zwicker for the opportunity given to us. The experience was one we will never forget. A lot was learned about Plasmas and the people who contribute in the field.

Below is a picure of the two students:

David Jacome, Class of 2010

Brian McCullough, Class of 2009

Below is a group picture of all the participants in the program:

World News:

Date: August 27, 2008
Topic: Global economy makes science more important
Notes: Now in 2008, our global economy is not looking good. Many jobs are being cut, and it seems that science is becoming the most important field to study. Take a look at this video below:

Date: September 10, 2008
Topic: The Biggest Experiment in the World
Notes: Called The Big Bang Machine (the Large Hadron Collider), a project that took 14 years to put together. The goal is to recreate the Big Bang, and uncover the secrets of the event. Below is a look at it:

Televised Programming Shows & News:

Title: The Elegant Universe
Description: Today physicists and mathematicians throughout the world are feverishly working on one of the most ambitious theories ever proposed: superstring theory. String theory, as it is often called, is the key to the Unified Field Theory that eluded Einstein for more than thirty years. The following three part show helps to brighten what this field is all about.
Notes: Many students feel that watching this video will motivate you to be a part of solving this mystery. After watching the movie, you will learn so much about where the future is going, and how important it is to understand the physical world. Physics allows us to recreate this experience with everyday experiments and demonstations that help us see what is happening. The following three-part show of The Elegant Universe helps to explain this much better:
