Accounting Gems
Barza Hashmi
Major: Accounting Class Year: 2010 Hobbies: I enjoy reading romance novels by Nora Roberts and Sandra Brown and all the Harry Potter books. Most of all, I love event planning and helping out fellow club leaders.
Club Affiliations:
Indo-Pak, Class of 2010 officer, Multicultural Heritage Club, Accounting Society
Favorite Campus Activity:
My favorite campus activity is the Class Wars becase it builds competitive skills against other classes while bringing class members closer in supporting their class.
Favorite Professor:
My favorite would be Professor Flynn because she broke my fear of stepping outside of my comfort zone to become willing to understand the faith of others.
Why I'm proud to be a Gem:
I'm a proud GEM because I know that I would share my experiences and wisdom with the upcoming freshman class and help them achieve a successful year at SPC.
Favorite quote:
"God is one, but his names are many. Religion is one but its way are many. Spirituality is one, but religions are many. Humanity is one, but human beings are many." Visions of an Interfaith Future
Best Advice for the Freshman Class:
The advice I would give to the incoming freshman class is to take advantage of all the great opportunities SPC offers. In particular, join as many clubs on campus and do not be afraid to do something new, like going a service trip outside of the United States! At the end of the day, if you do all that, your college experience here at SPC would enhance.
