JERSEY CITY, NJ – Saint Peter’s College Men’s Basketball has announced its 2010-11 non-conference schedule today, highlighted by a trip to St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands for the Paradise Jam. The Peacocks will be one of eight teams that will compete in the three-game tournament at the University of the Virgin Islands.
"We are extremely honored to have been selected to play in the Paradise Jam," said Saint Peter’s College Head Coach John Dunne. "We are looking forward to what will be a great tournament and a good early test for our team."
The veteran laden Peacocks will have several early tests including the season opener on Saturday, November 13th as they travel to Western PA to face NEC Champion Robert Morris. After returning home from the Paradise Jam, the Peacocks will host LIU on November 27th in their home opener.
Saint Peter’s will also host Fairleigh Dickinson. They will travel to face Big East opponents Seton Hall and Rutgers and also travel to face Wagner, Binghamton and Lehigh. Finally, for the sixth straight season, Saint Peter’s will participate in a Bracketbuster series game on the road in February.
"We have a lot of challenging non-conference games on our schedule," said Dunne who is entering his fifth season at Saint Peter’s. "The quality of competition that we face in November and December will prepare our team for the MAAC battles that we will play in January and February."
