FAIRFIELD, CT - The Saint Peter's College Peahens (0-1) scored three unanswered goals in the final 15 minutes of tonight's match, but it wasn't enough as they fell to the Sacred Heart University Pioneers (2-1), 4-3. Both teams recorded 11 shots in the contest. Erin Ronan (0-1 made her collegiate debut in goal for the Peahens, allowing four goals while making three saves.
The Peahens fell behind in the opening minute and then allowed two more tallys in the first half to fall behind 3-0. The Pioneers then scored in the opening minute of the second half to take a 4-0 lead.
The Peahens got on the board at 72:20 as Emily Fenice scored her first collegiate goal. Maria Tommasini then cut the deficit to two with a goal at 74:00. Fenice scored her second goal of the contest to make the score 4-3 at the 84:22 mark, but the Peahens could not find the tying goal and fell by one goal.
