SPARTANBURG, SC (Saturday, March 6)- The Saint Peter's College Peacocks (0-8) lost to the Wofford Terriers on Saturday evening, 9-2. Freshman Matt Mancini hit his first collegiate home run. Junior Sean McFadden scored the other Peacock run on a balk. Sophomore Justyn Carter went 2-3 for Saint Peter's.
Wofford would open up the scoring in the bottom of the third. After a 1-0 lead, the Terriors would score once again in the bottom half of the fourth, taking a 2-0 advantage. Wofford broke the game up on a five run fifth inning explosion. Mancini's solo home run to right field put the Peacocks on the board in the top half of the seventh. Saint Peter's would score another run in the top half of the ninth when McFadden came across to score. Sophomore Dom Macaluso was tagged for his second loss in as many games.
The Saint Peter's College Peacocks will play Wofford tomorrow at noon.
