What To Bring List

While preparing academically for college, many parents mistakenly overlook preparing health related items for their student to use while on campus. During these times at SPC, your child will have everyday headaches, pains and colds just like at home. The Office Of Health Services is available for students, but having certain items in their rooms for use day or night is very helpful. When ill, it is comforting to use the same things that “work at home".

Please consider packing the following items:

1. Thermometer - Know what your temp is when calling or going to Health Services.
2. Ice Bags and Hot Packs - For those inevitable injuries
3. Humidifier - Rooms are very dry in winter.
4. Over the counter Medications -
   • Cold medications - decongestants, saline nasal spray, cough lozenges,
   • Pain relievers - Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, (Alieve) also treats fevers.
   • Nausea and vomiting agents/antacids - (Pepcid, Tums, Rolaids Pepto-Bismol)
   • Anti-itch/allergy/rash medications - Benadryl, Calamine, Aveeno
   • Band-aides and first aide ointment - Bacitracin/Neosporin
5. Prescription Medications - Bring enough to last until the next time you go home. (Must be in original labeled bottles)be in original labeled bottles)
6. Sharps Containers - If you need one, you’ll know what I mean. (Call Health Services to find out the disposal Policy.)
7. Insurance Card - For outside referrals made by Health Services, .,labs physicians, dentists, etc. It is very important that you have a good understanding of your health insurance, its coverage, and rules.
8. Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer or Wipes - to prevent spread of colds/infections
9. Disinfectant Room Spray - (Lysol)
