2006-07 outlook--Will be looked upon to play a bigger role on the team this season...has worked hard in the off-season on his game...will be challenging the veterans for playing time at guard positions...is good off the dribble and can hit the medium range jumper...also a good defender.
2005-06--Played in 14 games last season, starting one...played significant minutes at Pittsburgh and at Manhattan...scored five points and grabbed two rebounds at Manhattan on 1/8.
High School--Played at Newburgh Free Academy...led his team in scoring...averaged 19 points per game...had 970 career points...played for storied AAU program, Riverside Church.

2006-07 outlook-- Will not be eligible to play until second semester...is tall and athletic...has great moves to the basket...will be looked upon to play both guard and forward...can step outside and make the jumper...very good finisher in transition.
2005-06--Transferred from Quinnipiac in the Spring and had to sit out due to NCAA Transfer Regulations.
High School-- Played at Christ the King High School in New York City...led his team to the CHSAA Playoffs...was on a team that won the Texas Nike Invitational Championship...was a CHSAA All-Star and participated in the Jordan Classic Game...was also a Mc Donald’s All-American Nominee...scored 33 points against Rice during his junior season...averaged a double-double for his high school career.
Personal--Born on May 5, 1987 in Brooklyn, NY...majoring in Business Management.

2006-07 outlook--Fully recovered from surgery that took place last September...will compete for valuable minutes at the forward position...has good post moves and can also drive to the basket...can hit the short to medium range jumper...versatile player.
2005-06--Played in 11 games off the bench as a freshman, including two in the MAAC Tournament.
High School--Like Ismaila Traore and Quentin Martin, Gore played at a prestigious prep school...he was a 1,000-point scorer at St. Andrew’s Prep School...Gore averaged 10 points and nine rebounds his senior year...his brother Ray Cross Jr. plays for Providence College.

2006-07 outlook--Will be one of the big outside scoring threats on the team this season...will look to continue his exceptional play...can hit any shot from the outside, including the three...can get out on the break and finish at the rim...good perimeter defender.
2005-06--Played in 32 games, starting 31 last season...exploded onto the scene, scoring 17 points against Florida in his first collegiate game on 11/9...the next night he netted 27 points against Oakland...scored in double figures 22 times, including two games with 20 points or more...made at least one three-pointer in all but one game played...made a season-high five three pointers in a game twice...shot better than 50% from the field 11 times...averaged more than 13 ppg in the MAAC tournament, hitting seven three pointers over three games...was named to MAAC All-Tournament team for his performance...finished second on the team in scoring and led the team in field goal percentage and three-point field goal percentage.
2004-05--Practiced with the Saint Peter’s team, but could not compete under NCAA transfer regulations.
2003-04--Attended the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, but did not play.
High School--Starred at powerful Miami Christian, which was ranked among the national Top 10 high school teams when he played there...has international experience as a member of the national team program in Puerto Rico...represented Puerto Rico in 2003 at the FIBA Junior World Championships in Greece...hit a clutch three-point basket in what ended as an 82-80 loss to the USA in the 5th place game...represented Puerto Rico in the 2004 U-21 Tournament of the Americas in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

2006-07 outlook--Will be a team leader on and off the court...the lone senior on the squad this season...will see extensive action at center...has good moves around the basket and is very comfortable facing the basket...can alter an opposing player’s shot.
2005-06-- Played in 27 games, starting four of them...scored a career-high 11 points on 5-6 from the field and 1-1 from beyond the arc in the Peacocks win at Iona on January 30...grabbed a season high five rebounds against Iona on January 11...recorded a career high, two blocks against Manhattan on January 8.
2004-05--Stepped in and played in 26 games, starting eight of them...set a career-high in rebounds by grabbing eight in the first game of the season at West Virginia...also had two six rebounds games...shot 50% or better in eight games played.
2003-04--Spot duty in 15 games...played 18 minutes and shot 3-4 from the field for six points and one rebound vs. Seton Hall (12/13)...did not play more than nine minutes in any of his other 14 appearances...made his only shot in games vs. Loyola (12/8) and Manhattan (1/14)...played baseball for Saint Peter’s in the spring of 2004 and pitched in five games without a decision...pitched 6.1 innings, all in relief duty...best game came vs. Marist on April 24, when he struck out both batters he faced in the first game of a doubleheader.
High School--Averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds as a senior at Lathrop HS in Fairbanks, Alaska to earn All-State honors in his group...two-time all-conference...McDonald’s All-America nominee...two-year member of the swim team in high school.

2006-07 outlook--Starting big man who will be a force on inside this season...he has the size and ability to be an excellent rebounder...he gets great position and times the ball off the rim well...goes hard at every opportunity...can finish around the rim and hit the short jumper...excellent attitude.
2005-06--Named third team All-MAAC last season...played in 32 games, starting 29 of them...recorded 15 double-doubles on the season and became the fourth player in program history to finish the season averaging a double-double (11.6ppg, 10.2rpg) and the first since Bob Fazio in 1974-75 to average a double-double...scored a career-high 25 points and grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds against FDU on 12/22...grabbed 10 or more rebounds 19 times, including six out of the final seven games...recorded a career-high seven blocks against Canisius on 12/9...moved into 10th place on the all-time blocks list with 76...set the single season blocks record with 57...shot over 50% from the field.
2004-05--Played in 28 games as a freshman, starting two of them...had his best game on 12/11 at Seton Hall, when he grabbed 12 rebounds and scored seven points...recorded at least one rebound in all but three appearances...scored a
season high eight points twice...had three blocked shots against Manhattan on 1/17.
High School--Played at Bishop Loughlin in Brooklyn, NY...had a breakout senior year, drawing attention by getting in the best shape of his life...averaged about 15 points and 10 rebounds as a senior...played an outstanding game in Loughlin’s 64-63 win over top-seeded Molloy in the 2004 CHSAA Brooklyn/Queens semifinal...Sowell was team captain and earned honorable mention all-city and all-league honors...Most Valuable Player of the 42nd annual Monsignor King Tournament.

2005-06--Played in 32 games starting 16 of them...became the starting point guard on January 19th at Siena...scored a season high 13 points against Marist on 2/2 and then again against Canisius on 2/24...scored in double figures five times...handed out a season-high eight assists against Rider on 2/26 and then against Rider again in the MAAC Tournament...recorded a season-high six steals in the MAAC Tournament against Rider.
High School--Scored 1,300 points during his high school and prep school careers...played for Jere Quin in Oakdale, CT at the St. Thomas More School...averaged 13 points and nine assists for Coach Quin...played AAU for Gary Charles and the Long Island Panthers.

2005-06--Played in 24 games, starting one...played his best defensive game against Siena on 2/4...came off the bench and played 16 key minutes, holding Siena’s Kojo Mensah to just eight points on 3-10 shooting in the Peacock victory...played extended minutes at Manhattan, vs. Iona, at Marist, vs. Siena and vs. Manhattan.
2004-05--Played in 15 games as a freshman.
High School--Played at Western New York Catholic power, St. Joseph’s Collegiate and was MVP of the sectional playoffs...St. Joe’s lost in overtime in the state title game...All-Western New York 2nd team selection as a senior...numerous all-state, all-city, all-league honors...team captain and MVP.
