  • CyberAtlas - Internet Demographics and Marketing data CyberAtlas carries stories from market research firms and others and should be a first stop for material dealing with cybermedia.
  • Dictionary of Units "an account of the principal units of measurement to be found in use around the world today, and the conversion factors often needed to change them into 'standard' units of the SI system."
  • Digital Atlas of New York City Dr. William A. Bowen of the Department of Geography at California State University, Northridge, has created a demographic atlas of NYC that shows population and race, ancestry, income and poverty, adult educational attainment, household types, and commuters.
  • Dow Jones Indexes Information about the construction of the Dow, historical data, including Dow activity after major new events and tracking of regional and specialized indexes, such as the Dow Jones Islamic Market Index.
  • Drucker Archives The Peter Drucker Archives at the Claremont Colleges are searchable and feature many articles from the "father of management”.
  • E-Stats: Measuring the Electronic Economy Statistical data on electronic commerce, collected and published by the U.S. Census Bureau.

  • eBizSearch "eBizSearch is an experimental niche search engine that searches the web and catalogs academic articles as well as commercially produced articles and reports that address various business and technology aspects of e-Business. The search engine crawls websites of universities, commercial organizations, research institutes and government departments to retrieve academic articles, working papers, white papers, consulting reports, magazine articles, and published statistics and facts."
  • >Economagic: Economic Times Series Page Over 100,000 files from US and some foreign governmental or trade organizations, presented in numerical data format, GIF or PDF files, and (by subscription or free to teachers) in Excel format. Although The data is generally available at the source sites (Federal Reserve Banks, Census Dept., etc) this easy to navigate site provides graphing and additional tools for analysis.
  • Economic Census updated every five years, this Census Bureau project examines all aspects of the economy, from the national to the local level. The current study was done in 1997.
  • Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean Publications from the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC)
  • Economic data from the State of the Nation, a portion of Stat-USA, the Federal government's Web site for economic information. Some areas are by subscription only and can only be accessed from the database workstations in the O'Toole Library
  • Economic indicators Current Economic indicators: trade, housing starts, household income and more from the Census Bureau.
  • Economic Indicators, with definations, from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Definitions of GDP, CPI, M2, etc.
  • Economic Studies Papers on economic and foreign policy issues from the Brookings Institution.
  • EDGAR Database EDGAR is the Security and Exchange Commission's database of company filings. All publicly traded companies have to file quarterly (10Q), annual (10K) and other reports with the SEC. Use EDGAR for detailed financial reports on companies.
  • Euromoney World Link International finance. Registration is required

  • Federal Reserve System National Information Center search for and retrieve financial data on existing or former banks, including US Agencies of foreign banks.

  • Financial Data Finder from Ohio State provides links to a variety of data worldwide
  • FRED II historical U.S. economic and financial data from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Look under Commercial Banking for the current prime rate, under business for compensation per hour, under Interest Rates for Treasury notes. You can also have updates emailed to you.
  • Glossary of Economic Terms from the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
  • Government Information Sharing Project at Oregon State University has easy-to-use tools for Census data on USA counties, the 1990 Census of Population and Housing, School District Data Book Profiles, Imports & Exports, Regional Economic Data, Earnings, and other data provided by the Bureau of the Census, the Bureau of Economic Analysis, the National Center for Education Statistics and the MESA Group.

  • ILO - The International Labour Organization Information on international labor standards, databases of labor statistics, and links to resources in labor law, education and training
  • InfoNation This United Nations site allows you to select two or more countries and compare social, demographic and economic data.
  • International Data Base Demographic data from 227 countries compiled by the US Census Bureau. The data go back to 1950 and have projections to 2050.
  • International Economic Trends an annual report from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
  • International Institute of Social History in the Netherlands has extensive links to archival and other resources in social history, business and the labor movement.
  • International Monetary Fund Contains full text publications of IMF working papers, IMF Survey , Finance & Development , Annual Reports and other IMF publications.
  • Martindale's Calculators On-Line Center Links to over 1,800 calculators: the usual scientific, math, and financial calculators, but also calculators for dates, astrology, wine, odors, car pricing, traffic, event hosting... if you need to calculate something you will find it here.
  • NASD.Com Formerly the National Association of Security Dealers and, until 2000, owners of Nasdq, NASD maintains information on securities investing and oversees securities brokers and dealers. You will find a searchable directory of brokers and securities companies at this site, along with other useful information on the industry.
  • Nation Master Over 300 statistical sets for countries of the world. It has some quirks and you may need to use the drop-down box for all countries if your target does not show up in the region you expect, but it does give basis statistics and their sources.
  • National Accounts Statistics database This United Nations database "contains a complete and consistent set of time series from 1970 onwards of main national accounts aggregates for all UN Members States and all other countries and areas in the world."   • National Compensation Survey Detailed statistics on hourly wages by region, from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
  • National Trade Databank (NTDB) Detailed foreign trade data from Stat-USA, the Federal government's Web site for economic information.The Library has four accounts and they are only available on the database workstations in the O'Toole Library.
  • New Jersey Economic Indicators Tables and text on current economic conditions in New Jersey.
  • New Jersey Labor Market Information from Labor Fast Facts . New Jersey labor and economic information
  • Nua Internet Surveys Surveys on the use of the Internet in various industries and by different groups: children, seniors, etc. This Irish organization provides good coverage of trends in the EU and in Asia, as well North America.
  • NY/NJ regionial economic data from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
  • Occupational Outlook Handbook descriptions of jobs, employment projections, salaries, from the US Dept. of Labor.
  • OECD Statistical data Economic and social data from 25 Western and Eastern hemisphere countries.
  • OFFSTATS This site from the Univeristy of Auckland Library provides links to public, mostly government and central bank, statistical sites around the world.
  • Population Index "Population Index is the primary reference tool to the world's population literature. It presents an annotated bibliography of recently published books, journal articles, working papers, and other materials on population topics. This website provides a searchable and browsable database containing 46,035 abstracts of demographic literature published in Population Index in the period 1986-2000."
  • RePEc (Research Papers in Economics) RePEc is a database of over 90,000 working papers, 40,000 journal articles, hundreds of software titles, and links to researchers in economics.
  • Resources for Economists on the Internet sponsored by the American Economic Association, this site lists over 1,300 resources.
  • Salary.Com enter your zip code and occupation and get a graph of what salaries are in your area. They do not always cite their source of information but each return does have extensive links to trade and government sources of salary information in your field.
  • Securities Industry Association Information and data on the industry are available on this site.
  • SIBL The Science, Business and Industry Library of the New York Public Library, at 34th Street and Madison Avenue, 20 minutes from Journal Square. Look for their guides to business research and other Internet links.
