- Assignment Calculator This very helpful site from the University of Minnesota lets you create a timeline of activities that are necessary to write a research paper and provides definitions, tutorials, research guides, and other helpful aides.
- Blood at the Source: Research Tips for Mystery Writers This site, by librarian and mystery writer Barbara Fister, contains an excellent guide to library research in criminal justice and many links.
- Bureau of Justice Statistics Provides data from various sources arranged under the following topics: characteristics of the criminal justice systems; public attitudes toward crime and criminal justice-related topics; nature and distribution of known offenses; characteristics and distribution of persons arrested; judicial processing of defendants; and persons under correctional supervision.
- Capital Punishment and the Catholic Church Topics include ethics, organizations and Catholic teachings.
- Central Booking: The Literature of Law Enforcement This issue of Law Enforcement News, a publication of John Jay College of Criminal Justice/CUNY, has abstracts of new books in criminal justice published since 2000.

- Criminal Justice Resources Michigan State University Libraries - Expansive coverage is provided on various topics. Issues include computer crime, criminal law, the death penalty, domestic violence, forensic science, gun control, juvenile justice, pornography, serial murder, white collar crime, and workplace violence.
- Crunching Numbers: Crime and Incarceration at the End of the Millennium An article from the January edition of the National Institute of Justice Journal gives an 8 page summary of data on crime and punishment in America during the last 30 years.
- Death Penalty Information Center The Death Penalty Information Center is a non-profit organization serving the media and the public with analysis and information on issues concerning capital punishment. They provide current statistics and polls, discussion papers, and links to other sites.
- Dr. Frank Schmalleger's Cybrary 8,000 links to criminal justice resources. Journals in Criminology links to journals from this site.
- Encyclopedia of Psychology Links to 2,000 resources in psychology, behavior, addiction and related areas.
- Famous Trials 33 trials from Socrates to O.J. Simpson and including the trials of Jesus, the Amistad Trials, the Chicago Seven, and Rodney King. You will find background, transcripts, audio clips, bibliographies and other links from this site.
- FindLaw Internet legal research, includes Supreme Court decisions from 1906.
- Global Legal Information "(GLIN) is a database of official texts of laws, regulations, judicial decisions and other complementary legal sources contributed by governmental agencies and international organizations."
- Handbook of Forensic Services From the FBI Laboratory Services, this guide is intended to "provide guidance and procedures for safe and efficient methods of collecting and preserving evidence."
- INFOMINE: Scholarly Internet Resource Collections " INFOMINE is a virtual library of Internet resources relevant to faculty, students, and research staff at the university level. It contains useful Internet resources such as databases, electronic journals, electronic books, bulletin boards, mailing lists, online library card catalogs, articles, directories of researchers, and many other types of information."
The Innocence Project "A national litigation and public policy organization dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted people through DNA testing and reforming the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice."
- National Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD) Over 550 data sets from the 70s' to the present that can be downloaded and used in statistical software.
- The National Center for the Victims of Crime is the nation's leading resource and advocacy organization for crime victims and those who serve them.
- National Clearinghouse on Child Abuse and Neglect Information Provides statistical information, a database of over 25,000 abstracts, a database of community-based prevention programs, state civil and criminal statutes, and links to other resources. This is an invaluable resource for anyone involved with children, child abuse, sexuality, or legal issues.
- National Criminal Justice Reference Service Provides resources on corrections, courts, crime preventions, statistics, drugs and crime, juvenile justice, law enforcement, research, and victims. Links are to US and international sources.
- National Institute of Corrections Provides training, technical assistance, information services, and policy/program development assistance to federal, state, and local corrections agencies. Additionally, users may pose a research question and receive an answer within five days from skilled NIC resource people.
- National Institute of Justice Many publications are available, including Using DNA to Solve Cold Cases and Toward a Drugs and Crime Research Agenda for the 21st Century.
- NCJRS Abstracts Database Over 170,000 abstracts from the National Criminal Justice Research Service.
- NCJRS Virtual Library - Full-Text Publications Combined search of the NCJRS web site and the web sites of the U.S. Department of Justice, the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, the National Institute of Justice, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the Bureau of Justice Statistics, the Bureau of Justice Assistance, and the Office for Victims of Crime. This is separate from the Abstracts Database of the National Criminal Justice Reference Service.
- Organized Crime and Corruption Database A database on organized crime from the Nathonson Centre for the Study of Organized Crime and Corruption at York University.
- Proceedings of the Old Bailey London 1674 to 1834 Searchable transcripts of over 100,000 trials held at London's Old Bailey courthouse.
- Roman Law Resources Compiled by Dr. Ernest Metzger, Faculty of Law, University of Aberdeen, this site provides texts and discussions, in English and German, along with original sources.
