Full text from over 1000 leading worldwide business periodicals for information on advertising, marketing, economics, human resources, finance, taxation, computers, etc. Coverage begins in 1985. Hoover's Profiles are now included for companies named in an article: click on the blue "Information" circle to obtain the profile.

Academic Search Premier (EBSCO) - Funded by the New Jersey State Library
Provides full text for nearly 3,300 scholarly publications covering academic areas of study including social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, and ethnic studies.

AccessScience
The online version of the McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology. 7,100+ articles, 115,000 dictionary terms, updated daily. It includes current news, biographies of scientists and inventors, a student center with study guides and essay topics, scientific tables, and links to related Web sites. The Encyclopedia can be searched by title, text, bibliographies, or contributors and the search can be narrowed by scientific field.

Althealth Watch (EBSCO) 
Alt-HealthWatch focuses on the many perspectives of complementary, holistic and integrated approaches to health care and wellness. It offers nearly 50,000 articles from over 160 international, peer-reviewed and professional journals, magazines, reports, proceedings, and association and consumer newsletters (most from 1990 to the present), plus hundreds of pamphlets, booklets, special reports, original research and book excerpts. In addition to the standard bibliographic citations, the database indexes each article by more than 225 subject categories, 16 article types and 11 publication types.

Anthropological Index
The Anthropological Index Online is based on the journal holdings of The Anthropology Library at the (formerly Museum of Mankind) which receives periodicals in all branches of anthropology, from academic institutions and publishers around the world.

Art Fulltext (HWWilson)
Wilson Art Full Text contains full text from nearly 108 journals going back to 1997. Art Full Text contains complete coverage from peer selected journals covering more than 378 periodicals published throughout the world. Periodicals covered include English-language periodicals, yearbooks, and museum bulletins.

ATLA Religion Databasewith ATLASerials
Includes more than 488,000 article citations from more than 1,500 journals (506 currently indexed), more than 215,000 essay citations from over 15,700 multi-author works, more than 446,000 book review citations, and a growing number of multimedia citations. This database begins in 1949 although indexing for some journal titles extends back into the nineteenth century. Links are provided to more than 185,000 electronic articles and book reviews, from more than 80 journals selected by leading religion scholars in the United States. This database is produced by the American Theological Library Association.

Banking Information Source (Proquest)
Covers more than 250 of the most important publications that provide information on the financial services industry. Included are leading journals and newspapers, industry newsletters, School of Bank Marketing Papers, Stonier theses, and the Bank Marketing Associations Golden Coin Awards competition entries. ASCII full-text articles are available for about 170 publications cited in Banking Information Source. For some publications, full-text coverage goes back as far as 1991. Full-image coverage dates from 1987 and is available for more than 120 publications. 

Biographies Plus Illustrated (HWWilson) 
Biographies Plus Illustrated contains more than 95,000 biographies and obituaries and more than 26,000 photographs of the subjects. Many of the biographies are enhanced with full text, abstracts, and citations from H. W. Wilson databases. Biographies Plus Illustrated contains the full text of the articles from more than 100 volumes of biographical reference books published by H. W. Wilson, including all the articles from all volumes of Current Biography, the World Author Series, Nobel Prize Winners, World Artists, World Film Directors, American Reformers, and numerous biographical books on musicians and composers from throughout history. The biographies are searchable by name, profession, title, place of origin, gender, race/ethnicity, titles of works, date of birth, date of death, keyword, and presence of images.

offers a comprehensive collection of full-text biographies supporting history, science, the arts, music, literature, multicultural studies, gender studies, business, government & politics, sports, entertainment and many other areas. This database features more than 177,000 full-text biographies from many different sources.

Biomedical Reference Collection (EBSCO) - Subscription dropped due to state cut in funding for NJKI
Provides access to nearly 900 full text journals, including full text for nearly 850 peer-reviewed publications. This database covers such disciplines as clinical medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system and the pre-clinical sciences.

Books in Print 
The online version contains reviews, book synopsis, stock information from major library wholesalers, brief author biographies, and other features, such as historical bestseller lists.

Business Source Premier (EBSCO) - Funded by the New Jersey Knowledge Initiative (NJKI)
Provides full text for nearly 7,600 scholarly business journals and other sources, including full text for more than 1,100 peer-reviewed business publications. Coverage includes virtually all subject areas related to business. The database also includes other sources of full text information such as country economic reports from the EIU, Global Insight, ICON Group and CountryWatch and detailed company profiles for the world's 10,000 largest companies.

Catholic Periodical & Literature Index (EBSCO)
Includes indexed citations to articles published in Roman Catholic periodicals, Papal documents, church promulgations, and books about the Catholic faith that are authored by Catholics and/or produced by Catholic publishers.

Choice Reviews
80,000 full-text book reviews from CHOICE: Current Reviews for Academic Libraries, the primary source for librarians and faculty who select academic library books. This site contains the entire database of CHOICE reviews published since September 1988. Choice cards have been familiar book selection tools at Saint Peter's for years. The online version of Choice allows faculty and librarians to create lists in their selection fields and read the reviews online.

Cinahl (EBSCO) - Funded by the New Jersey Knowledge Initiative (NJKI)
The Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) contains citations from 700 journals on nursing and all allied health disciplines. The database also includes references from books, dissertations and audiovisuals.

Communications & Mass Media Complete (EBSCO) 
This database incorporates the content of CommSearch (formerly produced by the National Communication Association) and Mass Media Articles Index (formerly produced by Penn State) along with numerous other journals in communication, mass media, and other closely-related fields of study to create a research and reference resource.  Included are cover-to-cover indexing and abstracts for more than 420 journals, and selected coverage of nearly 200 more, for a combined coverage of more than 600 titles. Furthermore, this database includes full text for 301 journals.

Contemporary Authors (GALE)
Provides complete biographical and bibliographical information and references on all of the more than 120,000 U.S. and international authors whose entries appear in Contemporary Authors and Contemporary Authors New Revision Series. Updated monthly, Contemporary Authors allows users to search for an author by name, title of work, nationality, date and place of birth and death, subject/genre, personal and career information, awards and honors, and more.

Criminal Justice Periodical Index (Proquest)
Criminal Justice Periodicals Index can provide information on virtually any criminal justice topic, including corrections administration, law enforcement, social work, industrial security, drug rehabilitation, and criminal and family law. The database offers ASCII text, image (PDF), and Text+Graphics coverage for about 50 of the titles most frequently accessed by criminal justice researchers. CJPI also includes complete indexing and abstracts for another 140 relevant U.S. and international journals. Coverage is from 1981.

EBSCOHost

ERIC (EBSCO)
An information system sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, the ERIC database consists of two files: the Resources in Education (RIE) file of document citations and the Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE) file of journal article citations. In addition, ERIC now contains over 850 ERIC Digest records that feature the full text of the original document.  ERIC on EbscoHost and has coverage from 1966 to the present. ERIC is also available for public access from ASK ERIC at Syracuse University, which also provides additional resources for educators. Some ERIC documents are available in full-text at this site but for most are only available from the ERIC E*Subscribe service.

Ethnic News Watch (Proquest)
Features newspapers, magazines, and journals of the ethnic and minority press, providing researchers access to essential, often overlooked perspectives. With titles dating from 1990, ENW presents a comprehensive, full-text collection of more than 250 publications offering both national and regional coverage. While the content may mirror mainstream media coverage, the viewpoints are decidedly unique.

Gale Literature Resource Center
Provides extensive critical analyses of authors and literary genres. Access to biographies, work overviews, bibliographies, themes, links to web sites, and full text articles is available. The LRC consists of Gale's Contemporary Authors (through volume 179 of the print series and Volume 64 of Contemporary Authors New Revision Series), the Dictionary of Literary Biography (through volume 202 of the print series), select criticism from Contemporary Literary Criticism (through volume 113 of the print series), the Merriam-Webster's Encyclopedia of Literature, the Scribner Writers Series and Twayne's Author Series (including Twayne's English Authors, Twayne's United States Authors, and Twayne's World Authors).

Gender Watch (Proquest)
With archival material dating back to 1970, this database provides authoritative historical and current perspectives on the evolution of gender roles as they affect both men and women. GenderWatch supports gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) studies; family studies; gender studies, and women’s studies with a unique interdisciplinary approach. Combining more than 200 academic, gray, and popular literature titles, GenderWatch provides researchers with more than 100,000 articles on wide-ranging topics like sexuality, religion, societal roles, feminism, masculinity, eating disorders, day care, and the workplace.


GreenFILE
GreenFILE is a research database focusing on the relationship between human beings and the environment, with well-researched but accessible information on topics ranging from global warming to recycling to alternate fuel sources and beyond. Comprised of scholarly and general interest titles, as well as government documents and reports, GreenFILE offers a unique perspective on the positive and negative ways humans affect the ecology. Drawing on the connection between the environment and disciplines such as agriculture, education, law, health and technology, GreenFILE will serve as an informative resource for anyone concerned about the issues facing our planet. The total number of records is approximately 295,000, and full text is provided for more than 4,600 records from open access titles.

Grove Art
The complete text of the 34 volume Dictionary of Art, published in 1996, supplemented with thousands of image links and new updates. The 34-volume print edition is in Reference at N31 .D5 1996.

Grove Music
The complete text of the print editions of the 29-volume New Grove Dictionary of Music, the 4-volume New Grove Dictionary of Opera, and the 3-volume New Grove Dictionary of Jazz along with links to some sound files at external sites. The O'Toole Library has the 29-volume print edition in Reference at ML100 .G885 2000.

Handbook of Latin American Studies
"The Handbook is a selective annotated bibliography of scholarly works on Latin America. Edited by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress, the multidisciplinary Handbook alternates annually between the social sciences and the humanities. Works reviewed include books, journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers in the disciplines of Anthropology (including Archaeology, Ethnohistory and Ethnology), Art, Economics, Geography, Government and Politics, History, International Relations, Literature, Music, Philosophy, and Sociology."

Health Source: Nursing Academic Edition
Provides nearly 550 scholarly full text journals, including nearly 450 peer-reviewed journals focusing on many medical disciplines. Also featured are abstracts and indexing for nearly 850 journals.

Health Reference Center (GALE)
Indexes literature in the health sciences and includes full-text dictionaries, textbooks, and pamphlets. It offers advanced searching, limiting to only general, academic, or professional literature, and URL's that can be used to link directly to articles.

History Reference Center
History Reference Center® is the world's most comprehensive full text history reference database designed for secondary schools, public libraries, junior/community colleges, and undergraduate research. The database features full text for more than 2,000 reference books, encyclopedias and non-fiction books from leading history publishers, such as: Branden Publishing, Compass Point Books, Houghton Mifflin, Lerner Publishing Group, Mason Crest Publishers, Morgan Reynolds Inc., Oliver Press, Oxford University Press, Rourke Publishing LLC., Salem Press, Stackpole Books, Toucan Valley Publications, and more. The database also includes full text for more than 120 leading history periodicals.

Featuring profiles of more than 40,000 companies, 600 industries, and 225,000 key executives, Hoover's Company Records provides easy access to the most thorough and up-to-date business information available. This comprehensive database gives users the whole picture, including: Company overview, Company history, Officers and board members, Competitors, Products and operations, Auditors, Rankings, Related industry information and Historical financials.

Hubmed
Alternative search interface to the PubMed database of biomedical literature, incorporating external web services and providing functions to improve the efficiency of literature search, browsing and retrieval. Users can create and visualize clusters of related articles, export citation data in multiple formats, receive daily updates of publications in their areas of interest, navigate links to full text and other related resources, retrieve data from formatted bibliography lists, navigate citation links and store annotated metadata for articles of interest.

Humanities International Complete (EBSCO)
Provides full text of hundreds of journals, books and other published sources from around the world. Produced by Whitston Publishing (an imprint of EBSCO Publishing), this database includes all data from Humanities International Index (more than 2,000 journals and 2 million records) plus unique full text content, much of which is not found in other databases. The database includes full text for 670 journals. 

Iter Bibliography
Iter's bibliography includes literature pertaining to the Middle Ages and Renaissance (400-1700). Citations for books, journal material (articles, reviews, review articles, bibliographies, catalogues, abstracts and discographies) are included, as are citations for dissertation abstracts, and essays in books (including entries in conference proceedings, festschriften, encyclopedias and exhibition catalogues).

Lexis Nexis Academic 
A multidisciplinary database that provides coverage in the fields of business, law, medicine and general reference. Retrieve company news & financial information. Search federal, state & international legal materials. Find full text and abstracted medical & health information. International and national newspapers are included with full text of the New York Times available from June of 1980 and abstracts of the Times from 1969 to 1980. Transcripts of television & radio news broadcasts are also featured. This is NOT the same LexisNexis that is used in law and corporate libraries, but a smaller academic version. As with DowJones/Factiva above, adjacent search terms are treated as a phrase search. Unless you want your search treated as a phrase put "and" between your terms.

Library, Information Science & Technology Abstract
Library, Information Science & Technology Abstract (LISTA) indexes more than 690 periodicals, plus books, research reports and proceedings. Subject coverage includes librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more. Coverage in the database extends back as far as the mid-1960s. 

 Literary Reference Center
Literary Reference Center™ is a comprehensive database that provides users with a broad spectrum of information on thousands of authors and their works across literary disciplines and timeframes. It has been specifically designed for public libraries, secondary schools, junior/community colleges, and undergraduate research. Literary Reference Center is a full text database that combines information from major respected reference works, books, literary journals as well as original content from EBSCO Publishing. Literary Reference Center contains full text for 26,000 plot summaries, synopses and work overviews, nearly 100,000 articles/essays of literary criticism, 140,500 author biographies (including 14,300 in-depth bios), 350 literary journals, 530,000 book reviews, 50,000 classic and contemporary poems, 13,500 classic and contemporary short stories, 4,000 author interviews, 7,500 classic texts and much more.

MarketLine is a premium business information company helping 5000 of the world's leading companies across the Automotive & Logistics, Consumer Markets, Energy & Utilities, Financial Services, Healthcare and Technology sectors.  The database contains compiled business information using published desk research and secondary data sources to create 10,000+ Company Profiles, 2000+ Industry and 50+ Country Profiles. 

Mathscinet 
Search Mathematical Reviews and Current Mathematical Publications. These publications of the American Mathematical Society contain full text reviews of books and of articles from over 1,600 journals, covering all aspects of mathematics and statistics in many fields. Links to full text of AMS publications are included, as well as a document delivery service for other articles. Coverage is from 1940 to the present.

McClatchy-Tribune Collection
The McClatchy-Tribune collection includes a 90-day archive of approximately 290 newspapers from McClatchy-Tribune Information Services. Updated daily.


Medline - Funded by the New Jersey Knowledge Initiative (NJKI)
National Library of Medicine's (NLM) premier bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and the preclinical sciences. This database contains bibliographic citations (e.g., authors, title, and journal reference) and author abstracts from over 5,000 biomedical journals published in the United States and 70 foreign countries.  Journal articles are indexed for MEDLINE using NLM's controlled vocabulary, MeSH (Medical Subject Headings). Citations are created by the National Library of Medicine, International MEDLARS partners, and cooperating professional organizations.  MEDLINE provides comprehensive coverage for articles indexed 1966 to present. Historical citations (1950-1965) are included if they have been updated to current Medical Subject Headings.

MLA International Bibliography (EBSCO)
Produced by the Modern Language Association of America, this database consists of bibliographic records pertaining to literature, language, linguistics, and folklore. The MLA International Bibliography provides access to scholarly research in over 3,000 journals and series. It also covers relevant monographs, working papers, proceedings, bibliographies, and other formats. Coverage is from 1963 to the present. The complementary MLA Directory of Periodicals lists over 3,700 periodicals in the areas of literature, language, linguistics, and folklore that are covered regularly in the MLA International Bibliography. The directory provides addresses, advertising rates, and information about submission for publication.

Nature Journals Online -
Subscription dropped due to state cut in funding for NJKI
Full-text access to 16 major journals from the Nature Publishing Group.

Newspaper Source
Provides selected full text articles from 146 U.S. and international newspapers.

NoveList
NoveList contains materials for all ages including picture books, children's "chapter" books, young adult titles and books for adult readers. Updated monthly, the NoveList database integrates information from a variety of sources. The Hennepin County Library is the main source of the enhanced subject access contained in the NoveList database. NoveList contains full-text reviews for adult, young adult, children's and easy fiction titles from several journals, including: Booklist, School Library Journal, Library Journal and Publishers Weekly.


NYTimes, 1980 - present (Lexis-Nexis)
The full text of the Times from 1980 to the present is available via LexisNexis, along with the Times Index from 1969-. 

NYTIMES, 1980-present (Proquest - Banking Information Source)
Full text coverage of the NY Times from Jun 1, 1980  - present.

NYTimes, 1851-2001 (Proquest)
ProQuest Historical New York Times from 1851 to 1999. This remarkable database allows searching the entire run of the New York Times from its first issue, including advertising. Digital images of the original pages are presented for viewing and printing. At present, print images do not print with citations -- you will have to remember to write them on the print-outs.

Nursing and Allied Health Collection (EBSCO) - Funded by the New Jersey Knowledge Initiative (NJKI)
Full text for nearly 400 journals covering the areas of nursing, biomedicine, health sciences, consumer health and allied health disciplines.


Oxford Dictionary of National Biography
It is a collection of 55,000 specially written biographies, which describe the lives of people who shaped the history of the British Isles and beyond.  It is the first point of reference for anyone interested in the people who left their mark on the history of the British Isles. The Oxford DNB replaces and extends the original Victorian DNB, and includes: re-written biographies of all subjects included in the Victorian DNB, reflecting new research, and providing an up-to-date assessment of their lives 16,500 biographies of new subjects from all periods.

Philosopher's Index
Produced by the Philosopher's Information Center provides "indexing and abstracts from books and journals of philosophy and related fields. It covers the areas of ethics, aesthetics, social philosophy, political philosophy, epistemology, and metaphysic logic as well as material on the philosophy of law, religion, science, history, education, and language." Coverage is from 1940 to the present.

Pre Cinahl (EBSCO) - Funded by the New Jersey Knowledge Initiative (NJKI)
A companion database to CINAHL, Pre-CINAHL is intended to provide current awareness of new journal articles, and includes a rotating file of limited bibliographic information (no subject searching), which are available to researchers only for the time when these articles are being assigned additional indexing. This enables users to gain access to article citations that otherwise would not be available. Once the bibliographic records are complete, they are added to the CINAHL database and removed from Pre-CINAHL.

Proceedings of the NAS
The homepage for the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, the Institute of Medicine, and the National Research Institute. Browse the site by several broad categories (i.e. agriculture, biology, chemistry, earth sciences, etc.) Includes the full-text of several hundred books, which can be read for free online.  The tables of contents and abstracts of the Proceedings of the NAS are also available on the website along with the NAS News Report. *Fulltext of current articles is available for a fee, back issues are available for free 6 months after publication.

Points of View Reference Center
Designed to assist researchers in understanding the full scope of controversial subjects. High school and undergraduate students can use Points of View as a guide to debate, developing arguments and writing position papers.

Professional Development Collection
The most comprehensive collection of full text education journals in the world. It provides a highly specialized collection of 520 education journals, including nearly 350 peer-reviewed titles and more than 200 educational reports.

Proquest Education Journals
ProQuest Education Journals gives users access to over 760 top educational publications, including more than 600 of the titles in full text.  Offering complete information on hundreds of educational topics, this database offers complete text and images from journals such as: Childhood Education, College Teaching, Harvard Educational Review, Journal of Athletic Training, Educational Theory.

Proquest Nursing Journals
This database offers complete text and images from such journals as Nursing, Nursing Management, Nursing Economics, Nursing Forum, RN, Journal of Nursing Education, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Researcher, and Nursing Diagnosis. It also covers such publications as Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine, American Journal of Sports Medicine, Occupational Therapy International, Physical Therapy, and Patient Care Management. For several publications, full-text coverage dates from 1992. For some, full-image articles go back to 1988; Text+Graphics, to 1996. Overall, articles in the full-image and Text+Graphics formats are available from more than 270 publications.

PsycArticles (EBSCO)
Database of full-text articles from journals published by the American Psychological Association, the APA Educational Publishing Foundation, the Canadian Psychological Association, and Hogrefe Publishing Group. It includes all substantive material from the print journals but does not include nonarticle content such as ads, covers, editorial board lists, and the like.

PsycINFO (EBSCO)
PsycINFO, produced by the American Psychological Association, is the ideal resource for over a century of information on psychology and its related disciplines. It contains citations and abstracts from over 1300 journals, and also indexes dissertations, chapters, reports and books. Coverage extends from 1887 to the present.

Pubmed Central
MEDLINE, maintained by the National Library of Medicine, provides 11 million MEDLINE citations from the mid-1960's to the present, along with other resources and some links to full text documents.

Reference USA -
Subscription dropped due to state cut in funding for NJKI
ReferenceUSA is an Internet-based reference service from the Library Division of infoUSA. The site was designed for use as a reference tool in libraries and is continually enhanced based upon suggestions from librarians and library patrons.  The ReferenceUSA
database contains, in module format, detailed information on more than 14 million U.S. businesses, 210 million U.S. residents, 855,000 U.S. health care providers, 1.5 million Canadian businesses, and 12 million Canadian households. Other modules include Corp Tech and International Businesses. Libraries may customize the product by purchasing one or more modules.

Regional Business News (EBSCO) - Funded by the New Jersey Knowledge Initiative (NJKI)
Comprehensive full text for regional business publications, including titles from Crain Communications. Coverage: 1984-Present.

Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy
Online version of the 10 volume comprehensive encyclopedia.  Includes "over 2000 original articles from over 1300 leading international experts across the discipline of philosophy. The articles cover an unparalleled breadth of subject matter, including Anglo-American, ethical and political, cross-cultural, interdisciplinary, continental and contemporary philosophy."

ScienceDirect (Elsevier)
Science Direct is an excellent resource for scientific, technical and medical information. Coverage is also provided in the following isciplines: arts and humanities, business management and accounting, psychology and the social sciences. Access to over 1,200 peer reviewed academic journals, 30 million abstracts from scientific articles and links to articles from over 80 other publishers is available.

Science Reference Center
A research database that contains full text for nearly 640 science encyclopedias, reference books and periodicals. Topics covered include: biology, chemistry, earth & space science, environmental science, health & medicine, history of science, life science, physics, science & society, science as inquiry, scientists, technology and wildlife.

Socindex with Full Text (EBSCO)
The database features more than 1,918,000 records with subject headings from a 19,300+ term sociological thesaurus designed by subject experts and expert lexicographers. This product also contains informative abstracts for more than 845 "core" coverage journals dating as far back as 1895. In addition, this file provides data mined from more than 670 "priority" coverage journals as well as from 2,800 "selective" coverage journals.

Standard & Poors Netadvantage
NetAdvantage should be your first stop in researching an industry or company. It is composed of several sections: 1. S&P Industry Surveys provide detailed information on the background and economic trends of 52 major U.S. industries. 2. Standard and Poor's Stock Reports cover 6,000 public companies traded on the major national and regional exchanges. The Reports include price-volume charts, statistical measures, fundamental analytics, earnings-per-share estimates, industry outlook, and current news. The S&P Register provides information on over 105,000 companies, including 92,000 that are privately held.
