Tom Romano
Aquatics Coordinator

Tom Romano was hired in November, 2003 as the first full-time Aquatics Coordinator for Saint Peter's College.  He manages the Eugene and Teresa Imperatore Swimming and Diving Center in the Victor R. Yanitelli, SJ Recreational Life Center on the Jersey City campus of Saint Peter's College.  Tom also coaches the College's Men's and Women's Division I Swimming and Diving teams. 

Coach Romano returned to his alma mater with an extensive coaching and aquatics background.  Prior to Saint Peter's, he served for five years in the aquatics and coaching capactiy at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.  Romano's swim coaching invovement includes the following - Saint Joseph of the Palisades High School, Paramus Catholic High School, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and the Saints Swim Club.  He manages the Hasbrouck Heights Swim Club during the summer season and holds numerous ARC and aquatic certifications. 

Tom was born and raised in Hoboken, New Jersey and graduated from Marist High School.  In 1972, he graduated from Saint Peter's College with a BA in History.  After college, he was called to active duty, serving in the US Army's 1st Infantry Division (Big Red One) as a 1st Lieutenant.  Tom attended graduate school on the GI Bill, earning an MBA in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University.  Romano currently resides in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ with his wife Mary Ellen Healy Romano (Saint Peter's College, 1974) and his daughter, Elizabeth.  Tom had the privilege of coaching both of his daughters, Mary Kate at NJIT and Liz at Paramus Catholic.  He also looks forward to coaching his grandson, Jack Naatus (Saint Peter's College, 2027). 

Peter DeNoble

Peter DeNoble is a 2005 graduate of Seton Hall University with a BA in Communications.  He is working on his MA in Education at Saint Peter's College.  Peter grew up on Staten Island and graduated from Monsignor Farrell High School.  DeNoble has competed and coached at every level of swimming and diving, from age group to collegiate.  In addition to his aquatic duties, he is currently the assistant swimming and diving coach at Saint Peter's College.

Peter is the son of Anthony and Denise DeNoble and has an older brother Mark.  Peter holds certifications in Lifeguard Training, Lifeguard Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, Aquatics Safety, and Certified Pool Operations.

Maurice "Mo" Betts

Maurice "Mo" Betts earned a BA in Economics and MBA in Finance from Saint Peter's College.  He is a Saint Peter's College Swim Alumnus, along with his younger brother Michael.  Maurice is a Technical Sergeant in the Air Force Reserve and will attend Officer Candidate School during the summer.  

Mo grew up down by the Shore.  He is the son of Tom and Hannah Betts of Toms River, New Jersey.  Maurice is a graduate of Monsignor Donovan High School, also in Toms River.  In addition to being a part of the Aquatics Staff, Betts is the Assistant Swim Coach at Saint Peter's College.
