Society of Physics Students
About SPS:

This organization is focused on helping the student body love and enjoy physics. Our goal is to develop a society that students will not only learn about the physical world, but students can be interactively involved. All students are welcome to come during our meetings, which take place every week or two, usually on Wednesdays in pope 2 at noontime. During each meeting, we discuss current events in science that are of great importance. Food is always served at each of the meetings.
Why Join SPS?
The SPS exists to help students transform themselves into contributing members of the professional community. Course work develops only one range of skills. Other skills needed to flourish professionally include effective communication and personal interactions, leadership experience, establishing a personal network of contacts, presenting scholarly work at professional meetings, publication of research in journals, and outreach services to the campus and community.

Special Message to new members:
The Society of Physics Students (SPS) is hands down one of the most unique and diverse clubs at Saint Peter's College. An event to welcome new members will be held in the Fall Semester 2009.
Worldwide, SPS is a professional association with international participation, granting membership through college chapters. Within the SPS is Sigma Pi Sigma, a nationally recognized scholastic honor society. All college majors are welcome to join SPS, but the highest representation tends to come from majors in the natural sciences, engineering, and medicine.
