Program Options
Students at Saint Peter's College can arrange to Study Abroad in four ways:
1. International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) www.isep.org
Saint Peter’s is an institutional member of ISEP, a group of 245 colleges and universities that work together to provide international exchange opportunities. Through ISEP students can participate in semester or year-long exchanges in 39 different countries.
Some ISEP programs offer instruction in English. Other ISEP programs feature courses in the native language and require participants to have completed advanced/intermediate level language study prior to the study abroad program. ISEP Programs typically require a 2.75 GPA with preference given to students with a 3.0 GPA.
ISEP participants pay tuition, room and board fees to Saint Peter’s College. All institutional and government financial aid can be applied to ISEP expenses.
ISEP Application Deadlines*: The priority application deadline for the fall term is February 1st. The priority application deadline for a spring placement is September 1st. Although the application deadline for summer exchanges is May 1st, students are encouraged to apply by March 15th.
* Exceptions to these deadlines apply to competitive sites and southern hemisphere programs; please see the Study Abroad Advisor for details.
2. U.S. Approved Programs
Saint Peter's College permits students to participate in American-sponsored programs overseas through consortia agreements. These special affiliations allow students to choose from hundreds of placements in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and South America. Although Saint Peter's College institutional aid cannot be used in these programs, most forms of government aid can be applied. In recent years, SPC students have studied overseas through the College Consortium for International Studies (CCIS), the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS) and the Center for Education Abroad (CEA).
3. Direct Enrollment in Foreign Universities www.ciee.org
The College will work with students who wish to enroll directly in a university overseas. As a member of CIEE, the College can arrange for direct enrollment in Australia, China, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Sweden, Turkey and Wales. In recent years students have enrolled directly in universities in France, Italy, Malta, and Argentina.
