Sondra Edwards Buesing Riley
Sondra Edwards Buesing Riley, Director of Cooperative Education & Internships, has worked at Saint Peter's College in various capacities since 1984. Sondra, a lifelong resident of Jersey City, (that's pretty amazing), is a graduate of Cornell University, and holds a Management Certificate from the American Management Association. A Past President and member of the New Jersey Cooperative Education and Internship Association, Sondra served on the organization's Executive Council.
Sondra feels privileged to be involved in the work of co-op and interships, which enables her to help students begin the process of articulating and often realizing their dreams. (How awesome is that!) Throughout her twenty seven years at SPC, she has found inspiration in a host of incredible and inspiring students. Much to her delight, Sondra's son, Patrick Edwards Buesing, is a Saint Peter's College graduate and former co-op student who took full advantage of the Program. interning at the Jersey Journal and NBA, while studying Communication.
A fan of libraries, Sondra is fortunate to have served as Treasurer and member of the Jersey City Free Public Library Board of Trustees for several years. For her work on behalf of the Adopt-A-School Program, a joint initiative of the Hudson County Chamber of Commerce and the Hudson County 4 College Consortium, she was named a Woman of Action in 1996.
Sondra is passionate about choral music and currently advises and sings with the College's Voices of Praise Gospel Choir which celebrated its 15th anniversary in April 2011. She joined the office last year and loves every minute of her job. Besides being in the Honors Program, Sarah is Past President of the McMullen Chorale and President of Argus Eyes. If you really want to make Sarah happy, you can buy her a puppy or bring her a bowl of ice cream.
Sarah hopes to become a kindergarten teacher. Because art and music are so important to her, she plans on incorporating those elements into her classroom. She loves working in this office because it enables her to help students solve many of their problems. It also helps to sharpen her customer service skills.
