Sigma Tau Delta

Sigma Tau Delta is the International English Honor Society.  A member of the Association of College Honor Societies, it was founded in 1924 at Dakota Wesleyan University.

There are over 600 Chapters located in Europe, the Caribbean, and the United States. Saint Peter's College has had a Chapter of the Society since 1987.

The 2010-2011 Sigma Tau Induction Ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at noon in McIntyre Lounge. The guest speaker will be Anne M. Ronan, Esq., Class of 83.

The 2009-2010 Sigma Tau Delta Induction Ceremony took place on April 12, 2010 at noon in McIntyre Lounge. The ceremony was followed by a buffet lunch. Our guest speaker was Mr. Robb Santos, '91 The ceremony began with an invocation given by Robert McCarty, S.J. followed by a welcome from Dr. Kathleen N. Monahan, Ph.D., English Department Chairperson.

The Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society, Induction Ceremony took place on Wednesday, April 26, 2006.  Inductees were Nesty Diaz ’07, John Doherty '07, Colin Hanley '07, Stephen Kuzminski '06, Patrick Nagawiecki '06, Kevin Pettit '06, John Robinson '06, and Alexis Smith '06.

Mary Ann McGuigan '72, Executive Developmental Editor at Bloomberg Press and author of books for young adults, addressed the inductees into Sigma Tau Delta.

McGuigan has written for newspapers and magazines and has published short stories for both children and adults. Her novel, Where You Belong, was a finalist for the National Book Award.
