Campus Safety Report Introduction
Reporting Period: January 1, 2008– December 31, 2008
Saint Peter’s College, in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act as amended by Public Law 105–244 of the Higher Education Amendment of 1998, submits the following report for the calendar year 2006. The College, in full compliance with Title II Part G of the act, will openly disclose to all perspective and current students and employees crime statistics and college policies concerning crime. Pertinent or required policy statements concerning campus policies and information are also included in this report. In addition, Saint Peter’s College maintains a Campus Crime Log, which is open to public inspection.
Formerly known as the Security Department, it was renamed to the “Campus Safety Department,” as this more accurately identifies the actual duties and responsibilities of the campus security and safety officers. The department provides 24 hour, 365-day protection of students, faculty, staff, and property. The department is comprised of a Director of Campus Safety, Assistant Director of Campus Safety, Two Shift Managers, Operation Manager, Lead Supervisor, a detail of four shift supervisors, as well as a diverse blend of security officers.
Campus Safety Officers are not sworn police, but do work closely with the local police department. They have been instrumental in assisting the Jersey City Police Department in crime prevention and investigation.
