Graduation

 

 All graduating students must declare their intent to graduate by submitting an Undergraduate or Graduate Graduation Application to the Office of Enrollment Services to receive a degree from Saint Peter’s College. Students who file after the deadline will have $25 late fee and will not be listed in the commencement program and/or may experience other delays including the graduation process.

Deadlines for Filing Graduation Application

December Graduation
October 1
May Graduation
February 1
August Graduation
July 5 (to be listed in the May commencement program must complete application by May 1.

To verify your declared degree, major and minor, access your program evaluation by logging on to SPIRIT ONLINE. Review your program evaluation for the courses you need to satisfy your degree requirements. If your major/minor is not listed, complete a major declaration and/or minor application form. Please note that if you have an incorrect major/minor listed and you do not complete the proper application form, you will not be eligible to graduate in that degree you listed on your graduation application form.

The following must be completed within the last business day of the month,  in which you applied for graduation (May, August, or December) and received to the Office of Enrollment Services to assist you in receiving the degree you applied:

 

For Undergraduate Degrees

  • Complete an Undergraduate Graduation Application
  • Complete all core, major, minor, and free electives requirements 
  • All major/minor substitutions approved by the Dean and/or Advisor
  • All incomplete grades must have a valid grade submitted
  • Must have at least 120 credits completed
  • Must have at least a 2.0 overall GPA
  • Must have satisfied the GPA major/minor requirement
  • All transfer work must be approved by the Dean and submitted to the Office of Enrollment Services
  • All CLEP exam paperwork must be approved by Dean/Chair of Dept. and submitted to the Office of Enrollment Services

 

  • For Graduate / Doctorate Degrees

    • Complete a Graduate Graduation Application
    • Complete all degree program requirements
    •  MBA Waivers must be approved by the Program Director and submitted to the Office of Enrollment Services
    • Graduate Education Alternate Route Credits and Comprehensive Exam results must be received and processed by the Office of Enrollment Services
    • Dissertation approved and passed by the Program Director           
    • All incomplete grades must have a valid grade submitted
    • All transfer work must be approved by the Program Directors and submitted to the Office of Enrollment Services
    • Graduate students must have at least a 3.0 overall GPA
  • To be eligible for degree certification all requirements must be completed by the end of the last business day of the month that you are applying in either May, August, or December. If these requirements are not complete within the last business day of the month you will be moved to the following qualified month.

    The College has one commencement ceremony in May and three certification dates: May, August, or December. If you complete your requirements in the middle of a term, you will receive certification on the next certification date. For example, if you complete all your requirements in the month of February, then your next certification date is in May. Your diploma and transcript will have a May graduation date. If you complete all your requirements in October, your next certification date is in December.

    We will keep your graduation application active for one academic year. If you are unable to complete the certification process by then, you will need to reapply for graduation (no fee necessary) at the Enrollment Services Center.

    Approximately 30 days after degree is completed, diplomas are available to be picked up at the Office of Enrollment Services.
