The Center provides students with Alcohol Social Norms information in an effort to correct misperceptions they might hold regarding college drinking. This avails them the opportunity to make healthier choices based on accurate information.
SPC social norms are based on student responses to the Campus Survey on Alcohol and other Drug Norms conducted annually since 2001. The findings have shown the majority drink responsibly:
……7 out of 10 SPC students drink no more than twice a month.
……13% do not drink at all.
……87% drink once a week or less.
……34.1% binge drink vs. national average of 45%.
……97% believe that drinking should never interfere with academics.
……At parties: 19% do not drink and 66% drink less than 4 drinks
Saint Peter's College takes their alcohol related policies seriously, as outlined in the Drug-Free Environment Statement and Policies.
