After several weeks of preparatory work, demolition recently began on Cushing Alumni House and adjacent structures. Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of Saint Peter’s College, donned a hard hat to kick off this phase of construction. A crowd gathered, watching as Dr. Cornacchia operated a large excavator to begin the dramatic process. The buildings slated for demolition occupy the site of the College’s future student center. Funding for the construction will result from Students at the Center: The Campaign for Saint Peter’s College, the largest capital campaign in the history of Saint Peter’s.
