Academics
Throughout the College’s 140-year history, the foundation of Saint Peter’s has been its liberal arts education, which has benefitted the lives of more than 30,000 students and alumni.
Academic programming at Saint Peter’s has grown significantly during the College’s history, with superior educational opportunities now offered to undergraduate, graduate and continuing education students alike – but there is still much more that needs to be done.
Academics has been bolstered by a $2 million federal grant to establish the nation’s first and only Center for Microplasma Science and Technology in the nation, positioning the College to become a market leader in science education. Additional priorities in the sciences include environmental studies, tissue culture research, equipment and funds to assist in student recruitment and retention.
Beyond the sciences, other academic priorities include:
- The Center for Global Learning
- The Communication Program
- General academic priorities such as lectureships, stipends for unpaid internships, visiting professors/scholars-in-residence, program development and seed money, specific academic department needs, theater needs, studio art materials, book vouchers, faculty research, scholarship funds, prep courses for students pursuing graduate school, transportation support for service learning and community service, computers and learning communities.
